Good morning !!
Today's blog post is all about 'pulling the cake'
A tradtional wedding game that originates from South Amercia. It's roots begin around the state of New Orleans and is an old Victorian tradition of ribbon pulling.
In those days, charms of good luck, and fortune were put into the wedding cake by her single friends. Nowadays it's more common for bakers to place sliver charms with a meaning into the bottom of the cake, and all the single ladies are given the chance to pull a ribbon (ribbon pulling) this usually happens just before the cake is cut.
Each charm has a meaning
A hot air balloon / Eiffle tower -means a life filled with adventure and travel
Claddagh - friendship, love and loyalty
Butterfly - Eternal beauty
Star - your wish will come true
Anchor - adventure is round the corner
Four leaf clover - good luck
Flower - blossoming love
Heart - new love
Fleur-de-lis - love and prosperity
Kite - something fun is going to happen
Wishbone - success
Ring - next to get married !
What will you hope for??
