Emily Woodrow Photography.

A Blushing Bride 2B Questionnaire

Who are you?
I’m Emily Woodrow, a local qualified photographer based in Norfolk and I run a tailor made photography service. I have a fun and creative approach to my work which allows me to catch the vibrancy of people and life on camera. I specialise in a number of areas from weddings to family portraits and offer a truly personalised service to those I work for. I take time to find out exactly what you want out of your photos through a pre-shoot consultation, and then keep in contact up to the day of the shoot.
How did you get into your chosen career?
Since I can remember, I was fascinated by cameras, whether it was me buying disposable cameras with my pocket money or using my Grandad’s Pentax SLR camera.  Recently I was sorting through my old room at my parents house and actually came across a photograph that I had taken at the age of 8 of my pets lined up against a patio wall with a blanket draped over it (as a backdrop).
After school, I followed my heart and took my A levels in Art & Photography (and 2 academic subjects to keep people happy). To learn as many subjects in art as possible, I then spent a year at the College of West Anglia and achieved a distinction in diploma in Art & Design.  I then specialised in Photography at Anglia Ruskin University and received a 2.1 BA Hon’s.
Straight after graduation, I began my career from photographically documenting my backpacking trip around the world.  It may seem odd to compare photographing an erupting geyser to guests throwing confetti at a newlywed couple but the result of both photographs took the skills of clicking the shutter at the exact moment using the correct camera settings and with the best composition.
After returning to the UK I worked as a Bounty Photographer at the Norwich and Norfolk Hospital and began investing in studio equipment to begin portraiture photography at client’s homes.  During this time I started offering my services as a wedding photographer to close friends which led me to work with other photographers as a second shooter.  Eventually my free photo work and 2nd shooter days paid off and guests and staff from weddings recommended me to their friends and before I knew it I was doing wedding photography by myself.

What services do you offer to brides?
I offer a range of services which include:-
A Pre Wedding Photo shoot - (so that you can get used to the camera) and also bring along with you to the wedding for guests to sign.

Boudoir Photography - accompanied with a makeup artist/hair stylist.  My colleague Kat will do your hair & makeup so that you are as glamorous and confident as ever! This photo shoot is recommended to take place before a night out so that you can show off your hair and makeover. This could be the start of your hen party and your photograph will make the ideal gift as wedding present to your husband.

 Favourite part of your job?
The best part of the job is capturing the emotions; the groom-to-be attempting to look confident whilst waiting for his bride but completely failing, the proud father walking his little girl down the aisle and holding back his tears and then the bride and grooms moments as their eyes meet for the first time at the altar.

Any special offers on at present?
I am currently offering a 5% discount to my Gold or Platinum Wedding Package to all 2014 weddings!
