∗ Who are you?
We are Kevin (Wedding and Celebration Cake Guru!) and Pete (our resident baker
and Choccy expert!) and we run Fabulous Cake Company here in Taverham
∗ How did you get into your chosen career?
Kevin has been producing Wedding and Celebration Cakes for over 30 years after
completing a City & Guilds in Bakery, Confectionery and Patisserie. At the age of 18
he found that life as a bread baker wasn’t for him and seeing as he excelled in Cake
Decorating and won awards at college decided that this was his chosen career.
Pete is from a baking background and while he strayed away from this for a few years
focusing his creative talents in design. He now combines both baking and design
where he bakes and creates all kinds of fabulous Chocolate Cakes as well as taking
care of our online media design and websites.
∗ What services do you offer to brides?
We provide fabulous wedding cakes completely bespoke to the couples requirements,
picking out themes and colour schemes to co ordinate perfectly with the wedding.
At our studio we have a permanent display of Wedding Cakes so couples can make
an appointment to come and have a chat with us as well as looking at examples of our
work.
∗ Favourite part of your job?
We love creating different styles of cakes and love the challenge of new and unusual
designs as well as making couples cakey dreams come true! Sounds corny we know,
but when we get “thank you” cards saying “we made their day” its all worth it!
