Good morning !
As we prepare to dance the night away at Michelle's wedding tonight I'm having a lazy day slumming in my skinnys and slippers !

Denim is such a comfy fabric and I know a lot of brides who panic about being comfy on there big day.
So how about a denim wedding !
I'm actually surprised how much inspiration there is on the web for this comfy and very relax style of wedding!

Take a peek and chill with this really informal and casual wedding theme.

Rock Your Wedding Away!

Today I am happy to bring the final shots from the Rockabilly shoot organised earlier in the year. Full of fun and frills, I absolutely loved every moment of this, from planning to the actual day! Bringing an element of 50's rock and roll can be so easily done, and looks amazing for any couple. I think the highlight of the day was the stunning cake! You can see the article in Iceni Magazine here - http://issuu.com/icenimagazine/docs/iceni_magazine_issue_07?e=7583251%2F5463727 with paper copy available across East Anglia very soon!

Till Death Do Us Part

The famous line in traditional wedding vows, "'till death do us part" is a grand and loving promise.

For those of you who are wanting to have an alternative wedding, this may be the idea for you. This will  surprise your guests and give them something to talk about.

Why not pick up on the theme of death. Now I don't mean this in a morbid way, but in a gothic, Mexican death skull way. And in particular I mean adding skulls (sugar, not real) to your wedding cake.

This can be a selection of ways, basic black and white color theme.

Or in array of wonderful colors.

Or something elegant.

Or just meet somewhere in the middle.

Remember, Remember, The Fifth Of November

Everyone who has grown up in this country will know, and likely celebrate, bonfire night (Guy Fawkes night).

If you've decided to get married on, or near to this night (the fifth of November) then you're probably going to be having Guy Fawkes themes throughout the day.

The most obvious three are fireworks, sparklers and a bonfire. Sparklers are great for your send off. Fireworks are a lovely way to end the night. And a bonfire is a perfect way to keep guests warm although the unfortunate smell that accompanies bonfires doesn't mix well with nice clothes...
But bonfires do mean marshmallows... Which are always yummy.

Perhaps you could have mini (fake) bonfire centrepieces for the tables, each with its own Guy. Or the types of food you'd associate with bonfire night. For me it's burgers and hotdogs, basically anything barbecued.

But I must say my favorite part of bonfire night is the sparklers... So pretty!

Wedding Timelines

Now, as I start the panic of the last few remaining days until I become Mrs Lack this Friday (EEK!) I came across this great idea. Most people will have quite a few guests coming to their wedding, and have probably been repeating the same times over and over to everybody, enough to make you want to cry! Well how about a wedding timeline?

These are fabulous! They can be tailored to the person receiving, so having one for the groomsmen, one for the bridal party, and even one for the guests. And it can cover just the day, or the whole entire weekend! Even better is this is something you can do from the safety of your own living room, saving you some cash, although if wanted there are companies who can design these for you too. Check it out!

A civil partnership at Drayton Old Lodge.

Earlia in the year, I was asked to put together a photoshoot for one of my favourite venues Drayton Old Lodge, to produce some images to advertise that they specialise in holding Civil Partnerships weddings.

It was the most beautiful weather and the bluebells were an added bonus! and as Connie the Campervan arrived I knew the shoot was going to be amazing!

Paul from Camrovision, knew excatly the type of images I wanted to create, romantic yet subtle and to capture the beautiful grounds of the venue, with its beautiful sunny Terrance and the old Abby ruins Drayton has so much to offer couples getting married!

The guys John and Mark, were in there element! Dressed in there own suits and cravats, the boys loved Connie the Campervan (vintagecarandcamperhire.co.uk) and couldn't wait to get inside! The cake from Liz at eligante went perfectly, with the suitcases packed and the guys on top, it just fitted in perfectly on the chequered floor of the van!

The girls Laura and Roseanne, spent the morning getting there hair styled and make up done by Dionne and Jade Fitt, (details on request) and the dresses supplied by Exquisite boutique in Drayton were simply stunning! Flowers, made by Oops A Daisy, were the perfect match and the wedding umbrellas added a something extra for the girls.

Drayton Old lodge, not only has a perfect grounds for your wedding but also has the most beautiful marquee and ceremony room. Contact the lodge on 01603861600 and speak to the events team about holding your special day there.

The Perfect Theme to Your Night!

Calling all Hens! As I sit eagerly awaiting my own hen night tomorrow, I thought I'd do some great theme ideas to get your girls giggling the night away! I have found more and more brides looking for a great idea and so I am here to help. Myself and the girls are going back to school as some naughty schoolgirls, donning our best uniforms and knee high socks, and there are a whole host of other themes too including:

  • Policewomen
  • Cowgirls
  • Moulin Rouge
  • Groovey Grannies
  • Sailors
  • Neon/80's
  • Disney
  • Pink Ladies
  • Crazy Cavewomen
  • Fantasy Fairies
  • Playboy Bunnies
One of the good ones I heard recently was everyone dressing up in a character using the same first initial as the bride. Her name began with an 'A' and so my friend went as an Angry Bird! It was awesome! Try and use the holidays to your advantage too, such as if you are close to Halloween, go as something scary like witches and zombies, or if it Christmas, grab some elf outfits and spread some cheer!

Here are some great pics for ideas!
