Brides can choose several options for this theme in regards to dress. Of course there is the most simple option being wear white. You can also opt to have a blue dress, and with coloured dresses becoming more popular for ladies, there are plenty available from a sky blue to a navy blue. You of course can then go for a white dress with blue detailing if wanted. This is great if you want to add a subtle hint of blue. Have your shoes in blue (or the other chosen colour) to really stand out on the day. Once again anemones are perfect for this as you can get white with blue centres to match the day. And if you chose one of the other two excellent contrast colours, how about daffodils, sunflowers or roses to fill your bouquet. Another option would be to have a button bouquet and fill it with naval buttons and badges which can be found in various charity shops and online.
The colours are simple for this. Keep white and blue as your main colours throughout the day. And if you want to add a little extra, how about daffodil yellow or ruby red to contrast against the white. Cakes can be as influenced by the theme as you want, either having a simple yet elegant white cake, or really decorating it with stripes and sea emblems. Favours should once again be very nautical with compasses or little boats. I like having cookies in the shape of, and decorated as, little life rings. Decorate the room with anchors and rope to give your guests a true naval feeling. Flags are also another good decor option to have hanging around the room, and perhaps as it gets to evening, use cream or white candles to give a romantic ambiance to the reception.
Have a happy Saturday!
