Shaken not stirred

I'm sure none of you will have missed the release of the most recent Bond film? Shortly after watching Skyfall I went to a friends winter wedding which was in this beautiful country house with roaring fires (fabulous) and I have to admit as I arrived wrapped in my faux-fur shrug I felt like I was a Bond Girl! This led me onto thinking about having a James Bond themed wedding; classy, extravagant and elegant. Only problem is often this type of theme would be associated with a big budget. I'm going to explain some of the ways that this theme can be done in a smaller budget.

You could arrive in "the car". There are so many wonderful car hire companies that you can use and find some beautiful classic sports cars and leave you both feeling like you're on the run from some infamous villain.

You can wear "the suit" and "that dress". Turn up in a classic tux and really feel the secret agent part. The bride can wear something classic and slinky and the options are endless for guests too. Team any timeless dress with a bit of faux-fur or long gloves or killer stilettos and you'll be feeling the part. And like the car you don't always have to buy. There are so many clothes-hire websites out there. And let's not forget those little treasures that can be found in vintage clothes shops an charity shops. If in doubt you can always raid your parents and grandparents wardrobes; you'll be surprised what vintage gems you'll find.

For a real 007 feel a casino can be added to your venue. Think poker, think roulette, think fruit machines. You can hire as many or as few as you like dependant on budget but not only is it a great way to recreate your James Bond theme it is also fantastic entertainment for your guests.

And if you really waned to push the boat out you could hire some lookalikes (who'd say no to Daniel Craig turning up to a wedding?!) although make sure they actually do look like your chosen guest first...

He about secret agent invitations? Or a James Bond cake?

And of course "the drink". There are some amazing courses you can go on for your stag and hen nights. Why not take a group of your favourite people out for a cocktail making session where you will be taught how to make some delicious concoctions. One sip of a martini (shaken, not stirred) will leave any one feeling like James Bond...
