I have always been and will always be in love with Disney. I think my first idea of true love came from 'The Little Mermaid', seeing the obstacles in her way, but knowing that you will find your Prince in the end and live happily ever after. And the many love stories have probably inspired many other girls the same it did me. I think the real beauty of these films is that from the first princess films of 'Snow White' and 'Cinderella' to the more modern 'Princess and the Frog', ever age group can identify with wanting the dream to come true.
This is why I adore the Alfred Angelo Disney Bridal collection so much. Each dress made to match each princess, allowing you to feel like you are Belle or Ariel, having your fantasy day. Here are some of the two collections that have been created and inspired by the wonder that is Disney!
Cinderella
Who hasn't seen this timeless classic! The poor girl, hidden away from the world, and treated like dirt gets to go to the ball with the aid of her Fairy Godmother and furry friends. The dress sparkles just as the fairy magic did in the movie, with beautiful detailing to the bust. A perfect match for those with their Prince Charming.
Belle
This is definitely up their with my most favourites. The girl who did what she needed to, to save her father, and then found that true love isn't skin deep, falling in love with the Beast. It has gorgeous detailing on the bodice and has the perfect shape. And when you see Angelo's design, you really can capture the elegant yellow ballroom dress sweeping across the dance floor.
Jasmine
The princess, forced to marry a suitor, and yet against all odds, falls for the poor boy Aladdin in the market place. And after a few twists and turns (and the help of the amazing Genie) they wed for all to see, changing the ancient laws to make marriage about true love. The Jasmine inspired dress flows elegantly, with the silver glamour you expect from royalty.
Ariel
The mermaid bound to the seas and in love with Prince Eric who is from the land. Against her father she is tricked into giving up her voice in return for a pair of human legs. She fights back and wins her man, and is granted the chance to live with him from her father King Triton. Ariel's dress is stunning with floral detail and material that looks like the ocean waves.
Aurora
Who doesn't love the wonder of Sleeping Beauty! The scene where the dress changes from blue, pink and green with the intervening of three little fairies, the waltz with the owl where Prince Phillip steps in and she takes her first dance, and the disaster of her pricking her finger on the spinning wheel. But of course, she is fine thanks to true love's kiss and they live happily ever after. Aurora's dress is inspired by her pink gown with detailing sweeping across the chest and waist.
Rapunzel
'Tangled' is one of Disney new installments to the Princess collection. And here we see Rapunzel, locked in the tower, who finally takes her firsts steps out with the blackmailed Flynn Rider. She travels to see the floating lights, and here finds her long lost family, and marries her one and only. Rapunzel's dress is simple and elegant, with a band of beading around the waist.
Tiana
Tiana is our southern belle, from New Orleans where she dreams of opening her own restaurant. She kisses a frog known as Prince Naveen, hoping he will become a human prince again and by cruel twist of fate becomes a hip-hopper herself! She defies voodoo magic to be the woman she wants to be again, falling in love along the way. Her dress is inspired by her leafy wedding dress in the film, with lots of lower layers, and floral details.
Snow White
The first film by Disney and a timeless classic. Sent to the woods by the woodsman as he couldn't kill her, rescued by seven cute dwarfs and friends with all the animals of the forest. She bit into a poisoned apple given to her by her wicked step-mother which was thought to have killed her, but once again, true loves kiss does its magic and she lives her happily ever after. This stunning dress has flowers along the bust and continues down the dress.
