A fruitful wedding!!!!!

On today's blog we bring you natures finest 5 a day-fruit!

With the attractive colours and fragrant smells, not to mention the eye catching visual display that fruit has to offer. From fresh fruit wedding cakes to citrus centre pieces, fruit can be a cost effective yet interesting way to theme your wedding or venue.
By preparing the fruit you can easily display the various colours and textures, for example halved grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes placed in a hurricane vase, not only bring vivid colours to the table but also a fabulous aroma to the venue, as well as a talking point amongst your guests!
Apples and pears are great for using as place names, with a natural tag attached to the stalk.
A fresh fruit sponge cake, is a brilliant alternative to a traditional wedding cake.
Cherries and berries add beautiful reds and purples tones to the day to, a lovely idea for a summer wedding.
With supermarkets offering a variety of exotic fruits in a variety of shape, sizes and colours, its never been easier to create your very exotic venue at reasonably low cost.

Weekly Round up 2nd Dec- 7th Dec

Morning, here's a weekly round up of this weeks blog 2/12-7/12!!

Monday
Gemma kicked off the week with love and marriage quotes, from what you could include in your invites, quotes to say when giving speeches and advice for the bride and groom!! And some bad quotes not to mention at any wedding.

Tuesday
Whilst Gemma was popping up her Christmas tree, she thought of ways you could light up your venue, with fairy lights, to candle lights, and even lighting up your wedding dress (anybody see the episode of 'my big fat gypsy wedding')

Wednesday
Today saw the first blog from Kayleigh, who brought us all things winter wonderland, from natural venue decorations to beautiful cakes with a winter wonderland theme.

Thursday
Thursday saw us take a trip down soap land memory lane with the marriage of Carla and Peters wedding, and taking a look at past soap land weddings, it's true no soap land wedding is ever a happy one-naughty Peter Barlow

Friday
We saw lilac from Gemma, this is a fantastic spring colour and so many beautiful ideas that she gave you, from lilac bridesmaids dresses to flowers with lilac tones.

Saturday
Vintage tea party anyone!! We love all things vintage here at Evissa!! We gave you ideas and inspiration on how how to create your very own wedding tea party, with Alice in wonderland themes and beautiful decor ideas.

A Vintage Tea Party!

It's the weekend at last!
Today's inspiration comes by all the lovely images floating around my office of vintage china and how beatiful it makes a wedding breakfast!
Instead of a traditional three course sit down dinner opt for a tea party with a selection of posh sandwiched and old fashioned lemonade!
You can leave it as a buffet and have "Alice in wonderland" style tickets saying "eat me" and use an old clock as a centre piece, or lay each table with its own mixed matched china and use cake stands filled with homemade cakes and pastrys!
Check out some of these amazing set ups.

Check out our lovely suppliers www.rubyandnellys.co.uk for a top vintage supplier !

Lilac inspiration !

Good morning, with a massive clear up operation in Nordolk due to the floods, we would like to say that we hope all the small weddingbusiness's are ok.

Today we look at a lilac wedding inspiration. It's so pretty and fresh and I love how you can combine it with so many colours!
It's perfect for boho, vintage, and chic weddings!
See what you think !

Soap land weddings part 2!

So with the Coronation Street wedding last night, It reminds me if just how much we love a soap wedding! From Eastenders Kat & Alfie on valentines day to a Hollyoaks wedding always ending in a dramatic death! Here is a look back at some of soap's iconic weddings, including serial brides, doomed grooms and the most amazing wedding dresses ever !!

Winter wonderland

A winter wonderland wedding.
From snowy whites to icy blues, frosted trees and icicles tumbling from above. Ideas to help you create your very own winter wonderland.
How about lighting the venue with candles, and twinkling fairy lights to lead you down the aisle.
A suggestion would be welcoming your guests with a warming hot drink on arrival, and a warm chocolate brownie as they come in from the cold.
Lead your wedding party into your winter wonderland inspired reception which has been created with shades on blues and whites. With natural woods, set amongst candles at various heights, in an     unordered fashion, to give depth and an unstructed feel, perhaps introducing sage green napkins at the place settings, to give an earthy feel. Keeping the decorations simple, using natural materials to bring the outside in.

Light up your day !!

So whilst putting up our Christmas tree, I began reminiscing about how petty a blog was I did last year about using lights to decorate your wedding.
So today I am blogging a new up to date post so sit back and enjoy, and I hope it brings some pretty ideas to your imagination!

Funny Love & Marriage Quotes

Funny marriage quotes are so much fun and are great for making toasts to giving advice, and for making us laugh. They also open our eyes to the essentials of things in marriage like talking and listening
My favorite thing I've noticed while researching quotes for today's blog is that there are a lot of really bad marriage quotes. I mean the quotes that get their humor from stereotypes and bad assumptions about married life, in-laws, wives, children and hubby's!
Here are my top 10 funny marriage quotes and wedding sayings:
  1. “A happy marriage has in it all the pleasures of friendships, all the enjoyment of sense and reason – and indeed all the sweets of life.” ~ Joseph Addison
  2. “A happy guy marries the girl he loves; a happier man loves the girl he marries.” ~ anonymous
  3. “You don’t need to be on the same wavelength to succeed in marriage. You just need to be able to ride each other’s waves.” ~ Toni Sciarra Poynter
  4. “a husband is someone who’ll stand by you through all the trouble you wouldn't have had if you’d stayed single.” ~ Anonymous
  5. “We don’t love qualities, we love persons; sometimes by reason of their defects as well as of their qualities.” ~ Jacques Maritain
  6. “Marriage has many pains, but celibacy has no pleasures.” – Samuel Johnson
  7. “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, and always with the same person.” ~ Mignon McLaughlin
  8. “The bonds of matrimony are like any other bonds – they mature slowly.”  ~Peter De Vries
  9. “To keep the fire burning brightly there’s one easy rule: Keep the two logs together, near enough to keep each other warm and far enough apart – about a finger’s breadth – for breathing room. Good fire, good marriage, same rule.”  ~Marnie Reed Crowell
  10. “A kiss is a lovely thing, designed by nature, to stop words when speech becomes superfluous.” ~ Ingrid Bergmen

Mike Savory - MSProVision !

Good morning !
On today's blog I'm showcasing our newest sponsor to the blog MSProVision !

Here's what Mike had to say about his business.

"I'm not really sure how I started the business.  I suppose it started basically because I love weddings! I love videoing and I really wanted people to see that having a video of your special day is a magical and really affordable way to remember it.
I take pride in turning the memories of your special day into a magical wedding  keepsake that will stand the test of time.

I am very proud of the fact that all my clients' feedback is around how discrete their service is, for me its very much stepping back and capturing the story of your special day."

Here is a lovely wedding from September Mike filmed, and just doesn't the bride look amazing!
