Birds of a Feather

First I have to start by apologising for lack of pics, technical issues at home (I really am going to smash my computer up soon!) So doing this on a tablet, which won't load pics, but that means more writing and ideas for you to make up for it!

It's Monday again, so to cheer up those Monday blues, lets have another top trend of 2013! Today I want to talk about birds. Another big trend for 2013, birds are a cute and beautiful theme to use in your wedding, with many ways to use it. And why birds do you ask? Birds are romantic! If we start with symbols, nightingales and peacocks are signs of love and longing. And what about monogamy, with swans and lovebirds mating for life, and dieing of sadness once their partner has gone. And even just looks, with swans and penguins making perfect heart shapes when they give each other affection.  Birds are perfect for a wedding, and here is how to get the theme in yours!

Let's start with colours to use on the big day. I find that its a pretty versatile theme, great for use all year and adaptable to many colours, with it really depending on the species of bird used (I would only use one species as this keeps it from overpowering). This is great if you want to use mint or purple, two other 2013 trends. It also works great with yellow, blue, emerald green, and pink. Incorporate feathers such as peacock to the theme, available cheap from many fishing shops, good tip!

Also how about having some real birds? You can have a doves release to symbolise your love for your guests. Or my absolute favourite, an owl ring bearer, which literally is a barn owl with its perfect heart-shaped face, which flies the rings to the groom down the aisle! (See bottom of post for my top Suppliers in East Anglia!)

Women can use feathers to bring the theme to themselves, with many headpieces and dresses available in feathered designs. Bouquets can match with feathers and eggs. Bridesmaids can match this by using small headpieces. These can be found by many places, such as Mystic Magic Masquerade online. Men can also keep the theme by wearing either feathers or small bird designs as buttonholes.

Decoration is easy, using everyones favourite vintage design, the birdcage. Continue the theme with twigs and small nests, feathers, birdhouses, eggs and of course, little versions of the bird of choice for the big day! Match the same design ideas for invites.

Enjoy it lovebirds!
