Fancy a Cuppa?

Tea. I love tea. And even more I love the idea of having a tea party for my wedding! With so many places offering Afternoon Tea as a wedding breakfast alternative, its a fantastic idea to treat your guests (of course you can also serve coffee... or Irish Coffees if you want to warm up!). You can have this at various locations, two of which I know off the top of my head in Norwich being Drayton Old Lodge and St Giles House Hotel (see below), but you could also do this as a DIY wedding, enlisting family and friends to bake and make cakes and sandwiches, and bring teapots and cups (I have a friend who actually served her wine in teapots instead). Because it is so easy to DIY, and so simple for many venues to make, it tends to be cheaper too, making it a fabulous idea for those with smaller budgets!

This is a great theme for those couples out there who want to go vintage with their big day, and great for colours such as pastels, blue, pink, green and yellow. Brides can wear knee length tea dresses, vintage inspired, to bring her tea party to life, and grooms can even add a twist of Alice in Wonderland by sticking on a top hat. Decorated the venue with teapots full of flowers, plenty of bunting, and serve in lots of mismatching crockery. Hit the car boot sales and charity shops to find what you need or look out for vintage hire places (see below).

I love the idea of giving tea for favours. there are places you can go to or online that will make a blend of tea you pick, which works as a great present. However this is one of those things where I would advise going to try at the tea shop as you don't want to give nasty tea to your guests! And invitations can keep the influence of tea giving guests the theme of your day and have them waiting in anticipation! Have a tea-riffic day!!
