Get in Check!

Tartan is the new Autumn/Winter trend taking over the fashion industry and is very visable throughout the highstreet stores. From simple checks to classic tartan, it is a much have style that can be easily brought into your wedding day!

Now we all know the men have it easy when it comes to pulling off tartan, they just nip down to their local suithire, get sized up and hey presto! Done! However, for women its a little harder, picking the right style to suit you and your shape, as well as style of the wedding. And picking the right colour! I prefer the Pride of Scotland (purple check) and Scottish National (blues and ivory) out of the usual choices available, but you can find anything, from a simple black check, to green and even white.

Here are some great examples of some stunning gowns to keep you in check!

Pumpkin Patch

Autumn is defiantly upon us; despite the warm weather the trees have stared to turn and the landscape is becoming a rich palet of reds, oranges and yellows.

Halloween may not be a large celebration over here in England and trick-or-treating may not be a ritual undertaken by every child but something which I have undertaken every year is pumpkin carving. There is something lovely about having a hand carved pumpkin lighting up your doorstep on the 31st October (even if the carving is questionable-mine definitely need some work).

If you do decide to get married in October then why not bring an autumnal theme in to your wedding with the help of the trusty pumpkin. If you've got the space they're easy and cheap enough to grow yourself. Their use can be varied from centre pieces, to letter boxes to outside lanterns. Here are some photos to inspire you....

Stag Party Faces

I woke up on sunday morning with a mask of a random man on my kitchen table. Evedently my housemate had gone on a night out and found this mask. It turns out it was from a stag party. Each member of the stag party had been given a mask by the best man; this mask was the face of the groom. So on Friday night in Norwich there were twenty or so men with the same face... Slightly confusing if you're drunk I imagine. But what a great idea! And a great way to find the other members of your party. And fantastic photos!

This may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally think it's quite funny! Although the thought of my face on a mask ending up in a random persons kitchen the next day doesn't make me laugh quite as much... So as long as you keep hold of your face for the night all would be great!

I also saw two other masks with said face on the middle of my road... I wonder if any of them stayed with their owner?

Crazy for Popcorn!

Monday has arrived! And today we are going popping crazy over another new trend to hit the wedding scene! That's right! Popcorn buffets! At first, you are thinking, 'Huh?', but it is such a fabulous idea. Imagine the set-up of a candy buffet, minus the sticky hands (depending on the flavours). And speaking of flavours, there are loads you can choose from, with myself coming across everything from the classics like salted and butter, to more unusual like cherry and blue raspberry. You can bring out your inner chef to create wonder combinations to really treat the palate.

This is a great DIY job too, making the popcorn at home or buying in bulk, and using large vases, bowls or other props to help yourself from. You can even use food colouring to dye the popcorn all sorts of fun and fantastic colours to suit any theme, or leave it plain for a more classic look.

The more I researched, the more I love the idea. Something really different and simple to achieve. And being a huge popcorn fan (I usually finish my large popcorn before the trailers are done) I couldn't imagine a more fun treat for guests to enjoy.

**Trend Alert** - The Bridal Suit

A new trend is emerging and it seems that some ladies are ditching the princess look and opting for something more suiting (excuse the pun!). Yes, thats right, its no longer just the men wearing the trousers on the big day! And I can see why. With so many styling options to suit all body shapes, they can be very flattering, and of course the comfort factor also steps in.

Wide leg trousers give a more floaty look, as if wearing a skirt, or perhaps turn the complete opposite direction and don the skinny legged bottoms to show off your shape. Mix it with a nice top or shirt and if wanted, a jacket, and accessorise with belts and jewellery. You can still wear a veil, with birdcage being the most flattering in my eyes, or even play it simple with a stunning headpiece or fascinator. And of course, go high with some stunning stillettos, to give you a graceful glide, and as us ladies know, heels help your bum look more pert (great for us that are allergic to the gym).

Here are some great examples:

North Norfolk

I am very excited to tell you that a photo shoot which Evissa Weddings organised and coordinated is featured on the front cover of North Norfolk Wedding supplement in the North Norfolk Living magazine, out today.

The magazine is available in North Norfolk but is also available online at this link; http://www.northnorfolkliving.co.uk/

The photo shoot was a North Norfolk beach wedding, featuring all local suppliers. I wanted to create something which summed up North Norfolk, something that was relaxed with images of friends enjoying each others company in beautiful surroundings.

The talented Camrovision Photography helped me to capture the day with some stunning photos which I am so pleased to be finally able to share with you. The day in question was a gorgeous sunny day and a thoroughly enjoyable experience was had by all those involved!

Another massive thank you to everyone who helped out! Here are all of the wonderful suppliers;
