Weekly Round-Up! - 15th April to 20th April

Good morning everyone! Michelle here today to give you a run down of the past week and give you the 411 on what you may have missed! Well it has been a busy week for the Evissa Team with my photoshoot on the Wednesday, and today with myself and Gemma off to the Big C Wedding Fair and Bridal Show down at Roundwood in Taverham to help out on such a great cause. So here is what you missed!

April 15th, 2013

Monday was all about using fruit and veg for a fresh (no pun intended!) and fun alternative to flowers. With so many colours and textures, they are a perfect idea for a bouquet, matching to the season and theme of your wedding.

April 16th, 2013

On Tuesday Gemma brought us her favourite ideas to create the perfect 1920's fusion into a modern day wedding. From what to wear, to Art Deco hints, it is full of visual inspiration for your eyes to feast on.

April 17th, 2013

Wedding gift list alternatives was on the agenda for Araminta on Wednesday. With great ideas such as a honeymoon fund or charity donation, it's a great read for those who have everything they want, and need something to help avoid ending up with three more toasters!

April 18th, 2013

Thursday we had Araminta giving us the run down of today's fair for the Big C. She was letting us know what we can expect to see and do on the big day, and with burlesque performs and a BBQ, it is guaranteed to be a heap of fun, as well as a great chance to pick up a fabulous dress at a bargain price.

April 19th, 2013

Today I brought you another fantastic featured supplier for you to check out, and today was Paul from Camrovision Photography. Having worked with him on two photoshoots, I can say he is a delight to work with and creates amazing images. Have a look at his work and find out more about him and how he can help you on your big day.

April 20th, 2013

Saturday and sunsets was today's theme. Gemma's love for that perfect sunset photograph inspired the post, and she gives a run-down of some of her favourite shots. Very romantic!

Thanks for another fabulous week readers, and if you haven't seen our Facebook page yet, keep tuning in as on Monday I will be bringing you the behind the scenes action of the latest photoshoot! Hope to see all you local B2B's down at Taverham later today for the fair!

Romantic Sunsets.....

Good morning!

On today's blog I share with you my love for a romantic fairy tail ending to a big day. Now, for this you need a glorious Summer's day and a venue with the most amazing views! To me, there is nothing more romantic than a perfect sunset. Seeing the sky's changing colours and the sunset is a truly magical end to your day and the perfect beginning to carry on celebrating long in to the summers evening.

Take a look at my most favourite collection of sunset weddings.

**Featured Supplier** - Camrovision Photography

Another Friday has rolled around which once again means another great supplier for you all! Today we have Camrovision Photography, a very talented man with a flair for getting the perfect shots. I have had the delight of working with him twice now, one of those being the latest Evissa photoshoot (which we will be posting some behind the scenes on Monday of!!), and both times have been a delight! And here he is!

Who are you?

Paul and Camrovision Photography. Based in Norwich I am a Wedding, Lifestyle & Portrait Photographer primarily covering the Norfolk area, but, I will travel so do not be afraid to ask if you are outside of Norfolk.  I have in the past been to Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire for my clients.

How did you get into photography?

I have always loved photography and art.  Many school friends have commented that my artistic side shows through in the different images I take.  I now have a beautiful daughter, who is already taking after her Dad as she loves photography!

What do yo offer couples?

My aim as a photographer is to put my clients at total ease.  If you are relaxed it will shine through in the images so I always try to inject a little bit of fun into the proceedings.  For weddings it is all about the celebration of 'Love' but it is also a day that will fly by and my job is to be there to capture all those special moments throughout the day.

I have full studio equipment and lighting if you would like a portrait shoot in your own home, but my personal preference would be natural light.  We are blessed in Norfolk with such stunningly beautiful locations, many of which are free.

I am fully insured for both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity and also CRB checked.

Scallywag Events Presents Their Wedding Fair and Bridal Fashion Show

Do you find yourself wondering what to do this weekend? Why not head to the Roundwood Celebration Venue in Taverham and check out Scallywag Events wedding fair, bridal fashion show and charity dress auction.

Sunday 21st April
10.30am - 4pm
Free admission

I blogged a few weeks ago about the charity wedding dress auction which will be taking place on sunday. Scallywag events were asking for donations in the form of your old wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses. A fantastic selection have been very generously donated (including donations from bridal shops in Norwich). You can find out more details about the dress auction through this blog post Donate a dress for the Big C.

Michelle from Scallywag Events was on future radio the other day promoting the event. To hear the interview follow this link Scallywag Events - Wedding Fair | Future Radio 107.8FM.

Depending on how quickly the dresses sell there will be three catwalk shows featuring your donated dresses. This will be a great opportunity to see the dresses on models (I personally think they look much better on people rather than a hanger).

There will be a dove release courtesy of Jill from Wings for Love. This will be a chance for a moment of reflection for those we love who we've lost to cancer, and those we know who are currently going through it.

There will be a fantastic selection of exhibitors at roundwood, showcasing some of Norfolk's finest wedding suppliers. These include;

Wedding List Alternative

Wedding list. To do or not to do? Originally the wedding list was designed to help the newly married couple set up their new home when they first moved in together after they were married. However it has become much more common for couples to live together before embarking on marriage and so this need for saucepans, plates and cutlery is becoming redundant.

Out of the past half dozen weddings I've been to only one that had a wedding list. So what are the alternatives?

Honeymoon Fund; this is a great idea if you're on a really tight budget but would still like a lovely honeymoon. Explain to your friends and relatives that as you already live together you have no need for household items, but would appreciate money which would be put towards a honeymoon.

Charity donation; this is wonderful for those of you with a special cause close to your hearts. If you've lost a family member or friend then perhaps asking guests to donate to a linked charity would be meaningful.

Bring food; perfect for the smallest budget. This is such a fab idea and gets all your guests involved. Ask your guests to bring a dish for a buffet. This will cut a large amount from your total cost and gets your friends feeling like they are helping. If you are really organised you can ask people to bring a certain type of food (dessert, salad, meat) so as not to end up with twelve salads and no meat.

Entertainment; if you have friends who are musically talented, for example, why not ask them to perform on your big day. You'll save money on a band and it will mean more to have friends playing than total strangers.

Nothing; some of you may feel that the presence of your guests if present enough.

A 1920's vintage day....

Good morning!

What with my love for vintage and a retro theme set for our week, it seems silly that I'm not slightly inspired and full of ideas. So take a look at my love for the Art Deco 20's with its fancy head wear and deco stationery on today's blog!

Hope you enjoy xx

Seriously Fresh Bouquets

It's the start of another week folks, and today I'm bringing you something a little different. So, the other day Gemma posted a fabulous picture on Facebook she found of a bouquet made solely of blackberries. And this got me thinking 'I wonder if there are any others out there?'. So I went on the hunt and discovered a world of bouquet options fit for a bride's alternative dreams. From fruit to veg, on their own or mixed with flowers, it is available to all.

The best bit about having a fresh bouquet is that it can be tailored to the season or colour scheme as there is such a vast array of fruits and vegetables. How about small pumpkins for an Autumn or Halloween wedding. Or maybe some strawberries for that perfect Summer treat (and if you get peckish on your walk down the aisle, at least you can grab a bit haha!). Artichokes have been a very popular addition lately due to their deep purple colour, matching the current trend.

Have a look at these beauties!

Braeburn Apples and Berries

Red Cherries and Flowers

Cauliflower, Broccoli, Green Chili and Kale

Lemons and Various Flowers

Blackberries

Mayana Leaves, Sponge Gourd, Dried Lemon, Rattan Fruit, and Eucalyptus
Gala Apples

Oregano, Parsley, Wormwood, Malabar Spinach and  Red Grapes

Mixed Vegetables

Strawberries

Weekly round up! April 8th-14th 2013

Happy Sunday! I hope you've all managed to get outside and enjoy some of this sunshine we've had this week? I've certainly been loving begin able to sit in my garden. We've had quite a mix of blog topics this week! I hope you've enjoyed them all.

Monday 8th April
On Monday Michelle brought you a fabulous blog about beautiful Japanese Cherry Blossom! These beautiful trees are so wonderful to plan a theme around; especially if you're in love with Asian art and culture.

Tuesday 9th April
Gemma brought you some creative mood boards ideal for those of you thinking about a circus themed wedding. Think fire eaters, jugglers and red and white marquees. For these of you who always dreamed of running away with the circus then Tuesdays blog is a must see.

Wednesday 10th April
On Wednesday Araminta explored the slightly magical use of mushrooms for your big day. This unusual theme played with the natural and enchanting mushroom; cakes decoded with mushrooms, mushroom stools and mushrooms hidden amongst the bouquet.

Thursday 11th April
It was all feathers on Thursdays blog. Araminta suggested some budget ways of decorating your venue whilst looking like you spent a fortune. And was it love or hate with the feather dresses? Araminta loved the feather capes but what did you all think?

Friday 12th April
Featured supplier Michael James Photo was Michelle's blog topic on Friday. Michael covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and Lincolnshire for weddings. Michael shoots stunning wedding photographs and his website is well worth a visit; find his work at www.michaeljamesphoto.co.uk/

Saturday 13th April
On Saturdays blog Gemma revealed her top 10 Norfolk wedding venues. If you're stuck for ideas of where to get married in Norfolk have a look at this list for inspiration.

With a predicted improvement in the weather next week I hope everyone else is starting to feel that boost in motivation that Spring brings.
With Spring and the renewed motivation also comes some exciting proposals, wedding planning and weddings! How exciting! I hope this blog is helping all you brides and grooms-to-be with hints, tips and inspirations.
