Heigh Ho! It's Snow White Wedding Inspiration We Go!

Snow White has to be one of the most iconic fairytale love stories of all time. First brought to us by the Brothers Grimm in 1812, it was much later brought to life with the magic of Disney and was Disney's first full length feature animation. The story of a beautiful girl cast off into the woods and found by a group of dwarves, poisoned by her evil stepmother and then rescued by true love's kiss. Perfect for any wedding, especially when the weather turns cooler like it is now!

There are so many things you can do to make your day as magical! Use apples throughout as decoration to highlight the iconic poisoned apple, give as favours, or even place in your bouquet (we did a post about this a while back on fruit and veg bouquets - http://ablushingbride2b.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/seriously-fresh-bouquets.html). How about the bride wearing a ruby red cape, and of course, rose red lipstick. Make excellent use of the autumnal colours to create your magical forest and winter whites available to you at your chosen time of year. And of course, don't forget t check out the Alfred Angelo Disney bridal collection, with 3 variations of the dress to choose from!

The Processional Order

The processional order may be something that you've not thought of. Obviously the bride and father of the bride enter last, but in what order does everyone else traditionally enter?

This simple breakdown gives you the traditional order in which people arrive; it should go without saying that you don't have to stick to this and you can adapt it to fit your wedding party or ignore it completely:

First
Mother of the Bride

Second
Groomsmen

Third
Best Man

Fourth
Groom

Fifth
Officiant

Sixth
Bridesmaids

Seventh
Maid of Honour

Eighth
Flower Girl and Ring Bearer

Ninth
Father of the Bride and the Bride

You may not have a flower girl or a ring bearer, you may want your bridesmaids to enter with the groomsmen, you may have the groom and his groomsmen waiting at the service before all the guests arrive, the mother of the bride may walk the bride down the isle. There are many "you may" scenarios which are all absolutely fine! The only part of that list which I personally wouldn't change is that the bride and whoever is giving her away arrive last; that's a tradition I would stick with.

Second Star to the Right and Straight on Until Morning

A Peter Pan insipid wedding! How enchanting. As a child I loved the idea of flying to Never Never Land and having adventures with the lost boys...

Here is your chance to relive your chilhood bedtime stories. You can take two approaches to this theme; either use it as a subtle hint throughout the day or go full out and go as extreme as you can.
In the extreme version I picture your guests arriving dresses as pirates, indians, mermaids, lost boys or the Darlings. I picture the pageboy in beautiful fancy dress, perhaps dresses as Wendy's brother in a top hat. If a more subtle theme is what you're after, then perhaps leave little hints around the room; on the tables as part of the centre piece, in the lighting (Pharos fairy lights everywhere to give an enchanting feel), in the invitations and perhaps the cake.

Ways to take it further include Green drinks (tinkerbell), glitter (fairy dust), photos playing with shadows, pirate maps (table plans), party games with involve some kind of adventure), thimbles (wedding favours), ticking clocks (centre pieces), Peter Pan themed clothes and shoes and food....

How lovely to transport all of your guests to a place that they won't be able to help but adore! Everyone will feel like a child again, reminiscing about when they first experienced Peter Pan; the boy who never grew up. Return to your childhood for a gigantic celebration.

Alternative Wedding Confetti Fun!

Showering the happy couple as they leave the ceremony is a tradition that goes way back. But you don't have to be traditional on what you use! There are so many fun and sweet ideas to have instead, read on to find out more!

Bubbles!

Who doesn't love bubbles?! A great idea for a wedding, and even better if you have lots of children there. Can you imagine all the colours shining through from the sunshine... Beautiful!

Pom Poms

Are you the crafty type? Why not shower the couple with pom poms for a cute twist on tradition! You could either use one solitary colour, or for a bright and bold change, mix lots of colours together.

Paper

A great idea for the lovers of books and music. You could use old books (get them cheap at car boot sales or charity shops) or use music sheets. Cut them into any shape you like from hearts to butterflies.

Flower Petals

There is nothing more romantic than rose petals scattered on the ground, and think how beautiful it will be to have them showered over you.

Rice

An old idea changed to fit the modern couple. Instead of boring old rice, how about using lavender rice? All you need is to dry out lavender stalks and harvest the seeds (rice) from the flowers. A beautiful idea with a gorgeous scent to last throughout the day.

Bird Seed

Eco-friendly and cute, this is a great idea for couples, especially those having a winter wedding as it provides the local wildlife with much needed food over the cold period!

They have stores in Brighton, London, Leicester and Manchester, as well as being able to get them from places like Schuh. Alternatively, order straight from the website and be amazed at not only the shoes, but clothing, accessories and homewares too, for women and men.
