Weekly Round Up! (Monday 11th-Saturday 16th November!)

Hello, I hope you've all enjoyed this weeks blogposts. Here is a quick summary of what's been on the blog, just in case you missed anything.

Monday 11th
Monday was Rememberance day, and with this in mind Michelle brought you the symbolic poppy and some ways it can be incorporated into your wedding.

Tuesday 12th
On Tuesday I suggested a way to bring some sparkle to your wedding day in the form of sequinned table cloths. I really think this look is very striking and effective.

Wednesday 13th
On Wednesday I discussed the life of your wedding shoes after your big day. Do you wear them again? Do they sit in the back of your wardrobe? Or do you display them proudly like a piece of art?

Thursday 14th
Gemma's blog on Thursday brought up the small but important detail of your nails. With all that attention on your wedding ring your nails need to look gorgeous too. There were some lovely suggestions on this post.

Friday 15th
On Friday Michelle gave you a Scottish flair in her blog in the form of tartan wedding cakes!

Saturday 16th
A wonderful biker inspired blog on Saturday! A great idea for something a little different...

A Hairy Biker Wedding !!

Good Morning,
We it's a been a hectic week here at Evissa weddings and with almost 3 new projects under my belt 2014 is going to be huge !!!

Well today's inspiration comes from The Hairy Bikers ! Although myself, I couldn't bring myself to go on a bike, they have always fascinated me! I once saw a biker themed wedding on "Don't Tell The Bride" and was blown away!
So it's all Leather, Tyers and bike chains with a bit of bridal couture and cakes all thrown together! Let me know what you think !!

Cake...? Check!

So, being a typical Scot, I love my tartan, especially on wedding cakes. It just gives this amazing feel of tradition and a small burst of colour against the white of the icing. I myself had tartan on my cake (including dinosaurs, I'll come to that again in more detail within the next couple of weeks) draped round the tiers, with thistles and white roses.

Here are some great examples to give you some ideas

Your wedding nails sorted !

Good morning !

Today's blog is a look at my favourite nail designs for your wedding day!

When I got married two years ago, nail designs wasn't such a big thing, so I opted for a purely white French manicure,
But with everyone wanting a look at your new ring, nail designs are a fab way to making sure your hands really stand out!
Heck out my favourite designs.

Display Those Shoes!

If you're anything like me you can appreciate a beautiful pair of high heels. I have far too many for how often I have the chance to wear them... But they're beautiful and I just can't help myself sometimes.

And I imagine when I get married I will buy a ridiculously gorgeous pair which I will want to be able to admire regularly after the big day. Chances are I won't wear them again. Is it like the wedding dress? Just worn once but always cherished? Why not make them into a statement? This way they can be admired often and still remembered, not just pushed to the back of the wardrobe.

My heels all live on shelves at the moment and I love that I can see them. Why have pretty shoes if you can't look at them (and wear them). This led me to thinking about how I'd like to display my wedding shoes. Perhaps on a shelf alongside a photograph from the day. Perhaps in a deep frame on the wall. Or why not up house them under a glass dome. I like this idea a lot, and if you've got the space in your home it can look incredibly effective!

How would you display your wedding shoes? That is assuming they stay in one piece after all that dancing...

Add A Little Sparkle!

Do you want to add some sparkle to your big day but can't decide how?

I absolutely love this idea... Although I must admit it's not something I would have originally thought to do. It's certainly not an area of decoration I would have considered for too long before I discovered sequinned tablecloths!

What a great way to add a bit of jazz. It may seem a bit offer the top, but I think it can look incredibly luxurious and elegant if dressed the right way. If you manage to add complimenting fabrics and flowers and keep other aspects more neutral.

I personally love the gold ones, but surprisingly (for me anyway) the dusky pink ones look lovely too.

If you didn't want them on each table, why not just have it on the head table? Or the table for the wedding cake?

What do you think? Have I converted you to sequinned tablecloths?

Poppy Wedding Moodboard

Well I'm still recovering after a long weekend of festivities and family! And today, in honour of today being Remembrance Day for all the soldier past and present to have fought and died for us, I have some beautiful poppy inspiration.

These simple flowers boast such bold colours with the contrast of red and black, providing a stunning colour combo for your special occasion. And with the plants being very versatile for growing, you can easily get them fresh. Have a look below...

Weekly Round-up! (4th Nov to 9th Nov, 2013)

Well, I dunno about anyone else but I have had an awesome week! We have had getting married, getting published, exciting opportunities and lots of fun! Here is what you missed over the past week :)

4th Nov, 2013
Monday was all about wedding timelines. These are great itineraries for your wedding parties and guests to keep them on time throughout the day, knowing where and when to be at all times.

5th Nov, 2013
Bonfire night! And of course it wouldn't be complete without some fireworks on the blog for all to see with great ideas for fireworks and sparklers (as long as it doesn't rain like it did for me and now we have 10 boxes of sparklers still to use!)

6th Nov, 2013
Wednesday was all about using skulls on your wedding cake. Now this is a great idea if you want something alternative, but it doesn't mean it will look too gothic, with some great examples of using Day of the Dead skulls from Mexico with bright colours that look stunning.

7th Nov, 2013
We had the Rockabilly shoot on the blog today with official photos from Camrovision Photography. A great collaberation and a super fun day for all!

8th Nov, 2013
Now today we had Gemma as I was too busy getting hitched! She brought us some fabulous denim wedding ideas, giving a cool, laid back style for your day.

9th Nov, 2013
And on Saturday (because Gemma is super impatient and couldn't resist waiting to put them up haha) we have some of the shots she took at my... wait for it... Scottish dinosaur themed wedding. And don't worry, there will be plenty more to come!
