As we all become more excited by the build up to the release of 'The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug' this December, I couldn't help but post one of my favourite wedding ideas! This is such a great theme for any season, but best before the snow falls I think. And it is such a simple theme to achieve.
Of course, in-keeping with the book, you want to try and include small parts of the story. Perhaps you could have dragons around the room to represent Smaug, or you could use lots of rustic decorations and wildflowers to make you reception look like the Shire. Ladies can wear a floaty dress, with almost a medieval look, complimented by a floral headpiece. And the gents can soften the suit down by wearing more greens and browns, perhaps leaving the iron pressed shirt and going for something softer and simpler. And for the rings, why not buy replica rings of the One Ring to remember your day forever.
I think out of the pictures, the pony is my most loved. Dressed in flowers and beautiful for an outdoor wedding, a great touch to the day, and to any theme really! And the chocolate coins for favours to represent the treasure is just a fantastic treat for your guests.
Here is something to keep you going until the film release (and hopefully another trailer) before December 13th, 2013! (And to see the trailer, as well as keep up to date on all the movie news, check out the site http://www.thehobbit.com/index.html)
