Bouncy Castle Fun

Who doesn't love a bouncy castle? Once the kids have tired themselves out I'm certainly up for messing about on a bouncy castle. There are always injuries but they are definitely worth it! And there are some great versions out there; some shaped like castles, some in bright colours, come plain white, some like churches or shaped like people...

And they're not too expensive either. Prices vary depending on the supplier and how far they need to travel to get to your venue but they are worth the cost in my opinion. There may be an extra cost if you want it over night (it's much nicer to have it for the whole evening, rather than it needing to be taken down while the guests are still there).

And bouncy castles are a fantastic photo opertunity waiting to happen! The first of my friends to get married had a bouncy castle and the bride and groom got some amazing photos! There was something quite surreal about seeing a bride in her gorgeous dress on a bright yellow and red bouncy castle.

Gemma Lamb Hair & Make up

Hi I'm Gemma lamb.
I'm best known for running Evissa Weddings, however I also work freelance as a hair and make up artist, specilizing in bridal and special occasion make up. I believe that everyone should be entitled to a bit of pampering every now and again, and what's a better way than having it professionally applied and feeling fantastic?

Based in Norwich, I cover the local surrounding area as well as Suffolk & Cambridgeshire. As I'm also a wedding planner I have strong ties within the wedding community.

As a hair and make up artist I can transform you for your special day, but if we have a short timescale, or lots of bridesmaids, then I have other local recommended suppliers that will lend a hand.

I use high quality brands, which have been tried and tested, and proven successful, all products are safe and long lasting, and ideal for photographic use.

After discussing and evaluating your needs and requirements, I will tailor the products best for you.

During your special occasion you want to look your best,
As an experienced make up artist I'm trained in bringing out your features which will stand out on camera.
After all it's the photos that you will look at for years to come.

For all 2014 brides I'm offering 15% off when you book for 3 or more people!
Offer ends 31/12/13 T&C's apply. Subject to availability.

Beautiful Peacock Bouquets!

Peacock feathers are just beautiful. I love the purples, blues and greens that are perfectly situated in every feather, and the way that they shimmer in the light. Which makes it no surprise that they have become very popular for weddings! A while ago we delved into having a peacock theme, and today we delve further in to look at the bouquet.

With so many combinations, from solely using the feathers, to mixing feathers with flowers, and even combining feathers in the ever loved button and brooch bouquets for added effect. You can have a simple small bouquet or use the whole feather to create a unique take on the cascade bouquet. And if you don't want the colour but love the feather shape, why not bleach the feathers to get a cream shade instead? Here are some beautiful examples of what you could achieve for your big day!

Apple, Lime Or Emerald ?

Good morning,
Today I'm looking at the many shades of green!
From Apple, lime and Emerald just how can different types of green be inspiring for your wedding? Mix it with White to give you a clean cut feel to a wedding - very sophisticated! Or add yellow for that Norwich city themed wedding !!

Scroll down to see the best of what the internet has to offer !!

Confetti Bar

I read about this last night and just thought it was amazing! Why not have a confetti bar at your wedding! What a great, unique idea.

You can set up a table, with a selection of bowls and dishes with a wonderful range of confetti. This could be ANYTHING...

Rose petals
Lavender
Bird seed
Glitter
Rice paper
Sparklers (not for throwing, just for waving)
Bubbles
Pompoms
Miniature paper planes

You could choose to provide a range of colours, textures and smells.

Little bags are essential for guests to make their concoctions.

Make it pretty and your guests will love it! A nice tablecloth, a pretty display of the rage of confetti and a sign explaining what it is and you're all set.

What To Wear Underneath Your Wedding Dress

Here are some useful tips for what to wear under you're wedding dress to do it and yourself the most justice. Some of this may seem like common sense but perhaps some of these ideas as won't have occurred to you.

Most wedding dresses have numerous layers so white may not be necessary for your underwear colour, however it is safer to choose a more neutral colour just in case. When in doubt go for a colour close to your skin tone.

If you're dress has a slinky fit then shapewear is your safest best, it will cover all manor of sins; keeping wobbly bits firm and removing the chance of VPL. A perfect way to keep you sucked in.

If you're wearing a dress with a plunging neckline you probably won't be able to wear a bra so you can get cups sewn into the dress for comfort and a little extra security. The same goes for a backless dress. Having cups sewn in makes so much difference! Either this or opt for a stick-on bra, but I'd recommend having a "trial-run" to see if you find this type of bra comfortable.

There are lots of different types of convertible bras, longline bras (which continue down to the waist a little like a corset), strapless and backless bras which are worth trying. With your dress it really is a matter of trying on a wide range of bras and seeing which suits you the most. Which is the most comfortable, which do you feel the safest in, which can you wear without it being seen. Would you consider going bra-less?

Speak to the sales assistant when you purchase your wedding dress and ask what they reccomend and if they have a style or shop which they suggest.

Don't be shy and ask your friends who've already got married what they wore on their special day, is there a type of underwear they'd recommend steering clear from?

Whatever stockings or tights you go for, have a spare pair on the day in case of laddering!

And most importantly do take the underwear to your dress fitting! If there is anything wrong with the udnerwear it gives you time to sort it out without panicking.

Find Your Perfect Bridal Bag!

One of the biggest parts of any bride's wedding day is having the perfect outfit. The dress. The shoes. The accessories. But what about a bag? Something that even crept up on to me when thinking about where I'll hold my phone as well as other bits and bobs. Of course you don't need anything mammoth sized, more of a clutch to hold the essentials that you want to keep on you. And thankfully there are many options to suit every style available.

And of course there are options to suit every budget too! Of course all the big department stores like Debenhams and House of Fraser will have plenty of choice, but if you want something a little cheaper, check the high street in stores like New Look. Shoe shops can have a great little selection, as well as the smaller handbag shops. And if you want to try and find something really different, get online. With bargains on eBay and one-off designs on Etsy, you are guaranteed to find the bag of your bridal dreams!
