Snow Love

A little while ago I wrote a post about a surfing themed wedding which I really enjoyed. I've decided to do a similar post today but this time focusing on Snowboarding and Skiing. So read on if you like either, as this is all about tips for making the perfect wedding for snowboarders and skiers.

I'm going to start by getting the obvious statement out of the way; your perfect location will probably be on a mountain side, or within spitting distance at least. Who wouldn't want a pre wedding session to get rid of the nerves, or a post wedding celebratory go on the mountain? But realistically this isn't always possible. If you're not from an area where there are mountains you have to take into consideration the practicallities of getting your guests there.... So if you cant get to the mountain then here are some ways to bring the mountain to you...

The next best thing is a snow dome, so if you can find a venue close to one of these your like minded friends will love you! Even if you just head there for your stag or hen night!

There are little things you can do as well, these include; snow confetti, mountain themed invitations, wedding cake and even rings (I've found some amazing ones for you!). You can get your guest to sign a snowboard as your guest book. Create your own snow with a snow machine or spray snow. Have your guest bring their own boards and skis to create a tunnel for you to exit your venue under. Bring branches of pine into your venue as decorations to give an alpine feel (and smell). Put photographs or memorabilia from past trips as part of your centrepiece. You could even get your guests to come dressed for snow (with their suits and dresses underneath).

I would love to see more photographs from a wedding like this, so do send us some if you have had or have been to one ( https://www.facebook.com/evissaweddings ).
