Flowering Fancies
Scattering flower petals on the aisle runner is something that’s been done for years, and the idea is still as popular as ever! It’s pretty, it’s romantic, it’s versatile! Toss them randomly for a scattered, whimsical look or place them down in a particular design for a more demure style.
You don't need to use flowers, plants also make amazing decorations, for example, the picture below using simple ferns adds a very natural touch to the room. You can also hire large plants or trees to add an enchanted forest look.
Personalise it!
The other option which I love, is having an aisle covered in messages from the family and friends, which is lovely to read as you walk back up the aisle as husband and wife.
Vintage Chic
With vintage still being a firm favourite in the wedding world, there are many ways of introducing this to your aisle decor. Sometimes tissue flowers can look a little dated on their own, but pair them with handmade paper roses and classy ribbon and the look is transformed into vintage chic and even a little modern. Another idea I love is using old vinyl records down the floor of each side, so cute!
Outdoors
Of course, not everyone gets hitched inside, and with an outdoors wedding, the options are endless. My favourite outside idea is having a spiral aisle. This is great to allow all the guests to see you as you make your way around to the Groom. You also have the option of candles, or even lanterns. And of course, if you are getting married on the beach, why not have little sandcastles marking the way! The beach also leads to exotic flowers and bright materials.
Anything else?
You really can use just about anything you want as decoration. Stationary caddies on the back of chairs for guests, small precious stones leading up each side of the aisle, the possibilities are endless. Whatever you choose, just be sure it is something that expresses you and your husband to be, and that you love, as it will be the first place you walk as a married couple!
