With Thanksgiving being tomorrow (and me being half American and so looking forward to stuffing my face!), I thought I'd dedicate todays post to this traditional and historical American holiday. Thanksgiving is a great idea for a wedding. Using lots of autumnal colours such as reds, oranges and browns, you can really take full advantage of the seasonal plants and flowers. And of course, we can't forget the food! Turkey to be carved in front of guests, lots of roots vegetables to be served and plenty of yummy pie to be consumed are just some of the menu choices.
You can decorate the room with small squash, using them as small candle holders, or have leaves around the room to give it a woodland feel. Perhaps you could transform pinecones or toffee apples into place cards, use dried corn as chair hangers, the list is endless. And because its in November, all these things will be easy to come by, making it a bit cheaper too!
So when it comes to the autumn wedding why not try influencing some holiday tradition into it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
