Kids or No Kids?

The most common question for Brides and Grooms these days is of course, whether to have kids at the wedding or not. Weighing up the pros and cons. So many couples are having children ealrlier in their lives, meaning more kids potentially coming to your big day. Who doesn't love that little kid peeking out from under the train of the dress, or the cute little flower girls laying petals on the aisle before the Bride makes her way to the Groom. Little boys attempting to breakdance on the dance floor always makes a photographic treat and all the cute little kisses forced by parents.

Of course there are the cons. They are noisy, and because they don't really understand the wedding (or care), they can be a major distraction during the ceremony. Parents may feel they can't fully enjoy themselves as they have to keep an eye on little ones, and thee is a fear of tantrums running throughout the day. And of course, you can lose a of of guests from not being able to find babysitters.

There are many ways to have kids at your wedding and keep them busy though! Many companies hire themselves as a mobile creche, which you can put in the corner of the room, or in a different room, creating activities and fun areas for little ones to burn off steam. There are also many gift ideas you can buy (or make) for kids to keep little hands and minds busy. How about making a book that talks about the wedding in a fun way so they can join in with the day. Maybe instead of a favour, you can get them an activity pack or toys, which are available from many companies online, or can be easily sorted with a quick trip to a craft shop. Seating older kids at a table together will give them company, allowing them to feel independent from parents watchful eyes.
