Beautiful Butterflies

I have always been a huge fan of butterflies, which can be seen from my wardrobe at home. They are graceful, delicate and beautiful in every way. But as I look around shops and stores, all I find is the same old generic butterfly designs. And while these are very pretty, you know that around ten other couples will be using the exact same place cards and decorations. So it got me thinking, can I find better? And the answer is yes!
Luly Yang Monarch Gown

Brides can find many options to wear including butterfly designs, including a stunning dress from designer Luly Yang with monarch butterfly pattern. Of course you don't have to wear such a bold statement dress (and you would probably have to have a bank account big enough to match the bravery) and there are plenty of other dresses available to ladies wanting to have butterflies on the dress. Another favourite is Alexander McQueens butterfly sandals, stunning design and so different (once again, big bank account, but it gives you an idea). And there are so many pretty headpieces to choose from also.

The theme can be used everywhere on the day too. Instead of a button bouquet, take the same idea and use various butterflies to make a statement. Cakes can also be decorated in various ways, although my favourite has to be the sweeping rabble (posh term for group of butterflies, I just found this out) up and around the cake, with lots of colours to brighten anyone's mood. Another favourite has to be the little invitation shown below, which open into cute butterflies. And decor? Have stand out centrepieces with 'flying' butterflies, hang strings of them from the ceiling, or maybe go more simple, with flowers and inset butterflies to give a pretty picture for guests.

My fave butterflies to try and copy into your wedding? Here's the top 5:

  1. Adonis Blue
  2. Swallowtail
  3. Peacock
  4. Purple Emperor
  5. Monarch
