Top Trends for 2013! Oh and Happy New Year!!

Hello 2013 and Happy New Year to everyone! I thought I'd start the year off with the top trending wedding themes and ideas for the year ahead. So lets get straight into the good stuff starting with colours!

Colours

Colours will be varied this year, with mint or purple being top couple choices. It's also going to be all about patterns, bringing in lined, chevron and floral pattern linens with big colours. We also expect to see more brides opting out of favour of white and ivory and choosing to stand out in bright dresses.

Dresses

As I said earlier, coloured dresses will be big for brides this year as was seen from the catwalk for this upcoming season. Also a lot more fishtail dresses will be coming through the seams as well as  well fitted dresses. We'll still see many of the tea length styles available as vintage remains a strong contender. Don't worry though, big gowns will still be popular as everyone loves to be the princess!

Flowers

The Vintage theme is still running strong when it comes to flowers and we will still see many hand tied bouquets with lace, fabric and ribbon incorporated. Simplistic one tone bouquets for brides will also be popular as are the modern and vivid colour brights!

Themes

Vintage will of course reign supreme, incorporating more of the 30's and 40's, but also giving more of the 1920's as well. Birds is another theme which will be big, using lovebirds as symbols around the wedding (invites, placecards, etc.) as well as peacock and ostrich feathers as table decorations. My favourite (and if you keep your eyes open, I will be writing about on Friday!) has to be the Rainbow theme, bringing all the colours of the rainbow into your big day!

Weddings Abroad

Not everyone wants to get hitched here in the UK (I'm still considering going abroad) so we have the top trending countries to get hitched abroad too! Mexico is looking to be a favourite for couples, with them jet-setting off to Cancun with fantastic weather and fantastic prices. It also appears long-haul is the way to go, with Africa and Asia being popular as brides and grooms trek to Kenya, Thailand and less inhabited areas like Borneo. Just remember to always check all the legal information on getting hitched in that country and be sure to get some good wedding insurance for the trip as well.

SO with all this to look forward to and even more bound to break through into the wonderful world of weddings, be sure to keep an eye on the blog for great tips and unique ideas to help you get your big day, your way!
