Do you and your husband to be love surfing? Why not base your wedding around your shared passion? It may not be Hawaii, California or Australia (although amazing if you're planning a destination wedding!) but it is possible to have that laid back surf vibe here in the UK. If you've ever been to the coast and there's been some swell I'd be surprised if you didn't see people donning wetsuits and braving the currents to catch those waves!
Lets start with venue... The closer to the beach the better! And why not tell all your guests to bring their boards and wetsuits so everyone who wants to can have a group surf after the ceremony!
If you want a really relaxed day then the groom and his ushers could wear their board shorts... Or perhaps a little smarter in a suit... Maybe they could wear flip flops or trainers? And what about this sweet surfboard buttonhole! A floaty dress really goes hand in hand with a surfers wedding! As does a classic campervan for transportation. I adore these colours! Or if you can persuade them your friends could always carry you around on a surfboard!
This theme lends itself to some amazing photo opportunities!
Surf boards can be used for guest to write on (a giant guest book!), or perhaps beach pebbles...
Surf boards can also be uses for a lot of other uses... Menu boards, table plans, or just to set the scene. If you're wondering what food goes perfectly with a surf wedding I would say fish and chips. It's what me and my friends always eat after a session in the sea.
If you're lucky enough to have nice weather why not bring lots of cushions down to the beach too!
And as for the cake... I love these beach/surf inspired beauties!
And how about these novel ring photos.
Surfs up guys and gals!
